Q. Will you place ads on my site?
A. No. Absolutely not.

Q. Do you allow sites to advertise?
A. Yes, we allow sites to have advertisements.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept cash, checks/EFT, credit cards, and PayPal.

Q. What operating system do your servers run?
A. Our servers run a custom version of Linux based on Ubuntu and Fedora.

Q. Do you allow adult sites?
A. Yes, we allow adult sites, so long as they do not display or allow access to minors.

Q. Is tax included with the price of my plan?
A. Yes, tax is included within the price.

Q. What control panel do you use and do you have a demo?
A. The control panel we use is called Usermin. Contact Support if you would like a demonstration.

Q. Can I host friends?
A. Yes, you may host your friends, but you must pay extra for any additional resources. In other words, if you have a 5 GB account, you use 4 GB, and your friend uses 2 GB, you will need to pay extra for the additional gigabyte.

Q. How long does it take to set up my account?
A. Your account will be set up once we have screened the transaction for fraud. Typically, it will be set up within a few minutes of signing up.

Q. Are there any hidden costs or setup fees?
A. No. The price you see on the home page is the price you will pay on your bill (unless you go over your allotted space or prepay your account).

Q. Do you offer Telnet or shell access?
A. Yes, we offer shell access to customers on the Standard and Corporate plans. However, because Telnet is not secure, we only provide SSH.

Q. Can I password protect directories?
A. Yes; you can do this from the control panel.


Q. How long does it take to get my domain working?
A. Officially, it takes about 24-48 hours for a domain to fully propagate across the internet. However, we have been able to knock this down to about an hour. This will depend on your domain registrar, however.

Q. What do I set my domains name server's to?
A. Our name server information is as follows:

Name server 1: ns1.techmastertelecom.com
Name server 2: ns2.techmastertelecom.com
Name server 3: ns0.xname.org
Name server 4: ns1.xname.org  

Q. Do you have a manual for the control panel?
A. Unfortunately, there is no manual for Usermin. However, you can contact Support with any questions.

Q. Where do I go to login to my control panel?
A. You can go here.

Q. How do I make sub-domains?
A. If you want to make subdomains for a domain that you own, you can edit your domain's zone file in the "dns" directory. If you want to make a subdomain at techmastertelecom.com, you will need to contact Support to make the changes for you.

Q. Where can I download a free FTP client?
A. If you are running Windows, we recommend FileZilla. If you are running Mac OS X, you can use Cyberduck. And if you are on Linux, you can just use the built-in FTP support.

Q. It's not letting me upload my files. What's wrong?
A. Make sure you are uploading to the right web directory, the public_html folder. If you receive an error message of any kind, contact Support

Q. What is the path to my files?
A. The path is /external/your user name/[your domain]/public_html

Q. What is the local path to perl?
A. The path to perl is /usr/bin/perl

Q. What is the path to convert for ImageMagick?
A. The path to convert is /usr/bin/convert

Q. What is the path to sendmail?
A. The path to sendmail is /usr/sbin/sendmail

Q. None of my CGI scripts are working. How do I get them to work?
A. Make sure that they are CHMOD'ed to 755.

Q. How do I create databases and manage them?
A. Login to Usermin and click MySQL Databases. After your database is created you can manage it from phpMyAdmin. This can be found at pma.techmastertelecom.com.

Q. How do I make a payment?
A. To send cash, a check, or an EFT, you will need to contact your support representative to obtain the proper information. Once you have the proper information, your subsequent payments will not require contacting Support. Credit card payments can be handled automatically by clicking the link in the invoice you received.

Q. What is your refund policy?
A. All customers are eligible for a 30-day money-back guarantee. You must be a new customer to take advantage of the guarantee (i.e. you cannot have had an account with us before). After 30 days, month-to-month customers are eligible for a prorated refund for the days remaining in the current bill cycle. Prepaid customers are not eligible for a refund after 30 days.
